In Sickness and In Health
April 19, 2005Dexter was sick the whole of last week. Fever up to 40 degrees… muscle ache… and the most difficult HEADACHE!
I took care of him. As in, that was my first time to take care of somebody else — round the clock! His fever would usually rise at midnight. That means I have to keep on applying cold cloth every 5 or ten minutes.
Whew! That’s tough! It’s only now that I can relate to how my Mom would have sleepless nights taking care of us when we’re sick, and then having to go to work the following morning with only few hours of sleep.
But no matter how sleepy I was, I was always on my toes! I guess being a wife gives you that natural instinct to take care of your better half. It also made me realize how important the vows are… in sickness & in health…
I’m glad that he’s fine now. He’s back to work, though we still have to undergo series of exams to find out why his headache is THAT bad.
Here’s hoping that its just a minor optic hypertension. Nevertheless, I’ll take care of my husband, no matter what.
